What is a Writing Assistant (WA)?
Writing assistants consult with Immaculata University students in one-on-one or group writing sessions. Writing assistants are available to answer questions about writing and guide students in finding and comprehending writing resources.
Becoming a Writing Assistant
To work in our Writing Center as a WA, you must meet the following criteria:

Completion of 106 and 107 composition classes at IU (or equivalent) with a grade of B+ or better
-
GPA of no less than 3.0

Writing sample submitted to the writing center director

Interview with the director
-
Completion of Writing Center application
-
Good command of both written and spoken English

Ability to work one-on-one with a student

Permission by financial aid for any expected payment
