Grammar Sessions

The Writing Center offers short grammar review sessions each week to students for whom English is not their first language and for English speakers who wish to sharpen their skills. Each session presents one grammar or correct usage issue through an instruction, practice, and question and answer format.

Sessions are offered several times during the week to accommodate class schedules, during the fall and spring semesters. They are an opportunity to learn or to refresh grammar skills. The English language learners (ELL) writing specialist focuses on prepositions, articles, sentence structure, punctuation, tense, subject-verb agreement, formal/informal writing, active/passive voice, and many more concepts.

Grammar sessions are offered during the fall and spring semesters. The fall 2016 grammar session times are as follows:

  • Monday, 12:30 - 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 5:30 - 6 p.m.
  • Friday, 9 - 9:30 a.m.
