The Writing Center will assist graduate students with the writing process. Please stop by the 1st Floor of Gabriele Library, or call (484) 323-3494 during the hours of operation to make an appointment for a writing session with one of our Writing Assistants.
While the Writing Center is supportive in developing the writing skills of graduate students throughout their program, Writing Center services may not be employed in the comprehensive examination process.
Graduate students working on dissertations who wish to work with a professional writing assistant should stop by the center or call (484) 323-3494 to make an appointment.
Dissertation writing sessions are a personal, individualized process between the professional writing assistant and the dissertation student.

Need dedicated time and space away from home to work on your dissertation? Good news: the Writing Center is hosting a “dissertation boot camp” to help. On a series of Saturdays, Feb. 27, March 5, 12 and 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Writing Center will staff Loyola 107 and be there to keep you on track. You may choose to attend small skills workshops in the adjacent room, or you can take advantage of the quiet, structured time with other doctoral students during those sessions.
The cost is $40 to participate; however, if you attend all the sessions, on time, and in their entirety, you receive $30 back. The $10 will help defray costs for printing and coffee and snack breaks.
So mark your calendar now and tell your friends and family you have to go to class on these dates, because this is a chance to get some serious work done. Remember, you must attend every Saturday to participate. Register online.
