The Eric Mintel Quartet to Give a Jazz Concert and Clinic at IU

The Music Department of Immaculata University is hosting a live jazz concert and educational clinic by the Eric Mintel Quartet on Friday, September 16, at 8:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the University´s campus.
The Eric Mintel Quartet was formed in 1993 and consists of Eric Mintel, pianist and composer; Dave Antonow on bass; Jeremy Berberian on drums; and Neil Wetzel on saxophone and flute. They perform original compositions which are receiving heavy airplay on WRTI 90.1 FM in Philadelphia and around the country. Eric is also a composer of orchestral music. They have performed at the White House, the Kennedy Center, Hartford Jazz Festival, and on NBC Television among other noted performances.
The clinic will give a general overview of jazz and touch on the topics of How to Listen to Jazz, Different Styles of Jazz, and the Business of Jazz. The concert will follow the clinic in Memorial Hall. The concert and clinic is free and open to the public.
Immaculata University, a Catholic, coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
