Immaculata University is pleased to announce that Liana Venezia of Audubon, PA, has been given a Presidential Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship worth $29,000 per year, to attend Immaculata. The Presidential Scholarship, which provides full tuition benefits to recipients, is awarded to a select number of students with a record of academic excellence. Students are evaluated on the basis of GPA (students must maintain a 3.25 GPA), class rigor, standardized test scores, class rank, and recommendations. There are four recipients of the Presidential Scholarship this year.

Venezia, who is the daughter of Anthony and Diann Venezia, graduated from Villa Maria Academy where she was involved in orchestra and string ensemble and the music ministry program. She recently won first place in the Tri-County Youth Festival’s senior chamber music category. For the past four years, she has been active in the Philadelphia Sinfonia Orchestra and served as assistant concert mistress for the Orchestra’s chamber division. Besides playing the violin, which she started playing 13 years ago, Venezia enjoys singing, composing, and writing. Keeping her options open, Venezia is undecided as to what her major will be but is looking forward to exploring the possibilities.
