(Immaculata, Pennsylvania), Immaculata University (IU) has received a $20,000 scholarship donation from GENEX Services, Inc., to support the educational needs of nursing students.

The scholarship is the result of a nomination submitted by Harolyn Davis, a 2011 BSN graduate of Immaculata’s College of LifeLong Learning and an employee of GENEX Services, Inc.

GENEX launched the scholarship program in 2012 which allows for company case managers to nominate their alma mater, or other local colleges or universities, to receive a monetary donation from GENEX to be used to support the educational endeavors of their student population via scholarship.

GENEX (www.genexservices.com) provides insurers, employers, and Third Party Administrators with a broad array of managed care solutions and information management capabilities through its more than 2,700 employees and more than sixty service locations throughout North America. The company has a demonstrated ability to help clients manage and control the medical, wage loss, and productivity costs associated with claims in the workers’ compensation, disability, automobile and health care systems. GENEX services include utilization management, case management, medical bill review, preferred provider organizations, specialty networks, Social Security representation, information management, Medicare Set-Aside and related capabilities.

“Immaculata University is extremely pleased to receive this scholarship donation,” said Sister R. Patricia Fadden, IHM, Ed.D., IU president. “The generosity of GENEX Services, Inc., in support of future nurses is admirable.”

“Immaculata’s rapidly growing nursing program is honored by this donation,” said Stephen Pugliese, Ph.D., IU’s vice president for Student Development & Engagement and interim vice president for University Advancement. “Community partnerships, such as IU’s association with GENEX Services, Inc., illustrate the need for corporate partnerships in funding education in the critical field of healthcare.”

Immaculata University offers more than 60 majors, minors and certificate programs, and its distinguished faculty serves a population of more than 4,500 students.

Immaculata University will celebrate the centennial of its founding in 2020.
