				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.immaculatasymphony.org/">Immaculata Symphony</a>, a university-community organization, held its annual Spring Concert entitled <em>Passions</em>, on Saturday, April 13, 2013.   Joseph Gehring conducted, with special guest Janet Ahlquist on piano.</p>
<p>From tragic to triumphant, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 is full of emotion and passion.  Equally as dramatic, the Immaculata Symphony was thrilled to welcome Janet Ahlquist back to the stage, as she performed Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43.  This inspirational concert concluded another exciting season led by Maestro Joseph Gehring.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Janet Ahlquist, Devon, PA resident, pianist, and adjunct music faculty member at <a href="http://www.immaculata.edu/">Immaculata University</a>, is performing in two upcoming concerts in the Philadelphia region.  The concerts are free and open to the public.</p>
<p>The first concert is Sunday, January 20, at 3:00 p.m. at Shannondell in Audubon, PA. Ahlquist will perform some solo pieces and will also be accompanied by Immaculata University music student Cameron Stringham ’14 of Cinnaminson, NJ.  The program, entitled “Shall We Dance,” will feature folk dances of Grieg (Norway), waltzes, mazurka, polonaise of Chopin (Poland), a Brahms Hungarian Dance, Faure’s Spanish Dance, and American folk dances.</p>
<p>On Monday, February 25, Ahlquist will perform at the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m.  Featured during this concert will be a solo version of Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” that is part of the series “Perspectives in Music.”</p>
