Scholarship for Business Student: Anne Marie DeCarolis
The Immaculata University Business Department Advisory Board has selected Anne Marie DeCarolis of Nottingham, PA, for its inaugural scholarship. DeCarolis is majoring in Business Management. The scholarship, worth $1,825 in support of her educational expenses for the spring 2014 semester, is awarded to an incoming freshman Business and Accounting major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
With Business as her major, DeCarolis emphasizes keeping the humanity in business. Her work experiences have led her to an awareness and understanding of the consumer side of business and she anticipates possible opportunities in the area of marketing. In her high school, DeCarolis started a teen education and suicide prevention program called Aevidum and hopes to launch a similar venture while at Immaculata University.
“Attending Immaculata is such an amazing blessing, and I could not be more humbled to have, not only, the moral and spiritual support of the Business Department and Advisory Board, but also their financial support. I cannot wait to continue in my field of study, give back to the department and ultimately, make a difference in the professional world,” commented DeCarolis.
The Business Advisory Board, consisting of business leaders from the region, is funding this scholarship for the first time this year. Several advisory members were chosen to serve on the selection committee along with administrators from Immaculata University. Immaculata University’s Business and Accounting Department offers degrees in Accounting, Business Management, Business and Computer Education, Finance, and Marketing Management.
Immaculata University is a residential, Catholic, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
