Immaculata University will host a concert, "Musical Expressions XVIII," by David Darling on Thursday, August 7, at 7:30 p.m. The live concert, held in Alumnae Hall Theater, features acoustic cello and digital wave.
David Darling is a cellist, composer, and educator. His revolutionary approach to the cello (using his voice, electric four and eight string celli, and sound alteration devices) has won him a reputation that brought him to NBC´s Today Show, as well as to PBS. He has been a consultant for the Sesame Street Conference on Programming in the Arts and he is a much sought after composer of scores for dance companies. Having performed in most major colleges, clubs, and festivals in the U.S., he has also established himself in Europe where he is known as a "master of improvisation and composition." Mr. Darling has toured Europe, Canada, and Mexico.
