As part of its Italian Culture Series offerings, Immaculata University is hosting an event for children (ages 4 â€“ 12) and their parents titled Kids Stuff/Italian Style: A Day of Fun Experiencing the Arts of Italy. This event takes place in Alumnae Hall, on the campus of Immaculata on Sunday, September 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Featured will be multiple presentations by commedia dell´arte actor Glen Russell and marionettist John Wagoner, and interactive lessons in folk dancing, mask making, music, the Italian language, cooking, and more. Experiences are on-going throughout the day in Alumnae Hall. Light snacks will be available for purchase.
The cost is $10 per child; $25 for a family of three or more children. Parents are free. Tickets available at door; to reserve space, call 610-647-4400, ext. 3125 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Since 1984, the Italian Culture Series at Immaculata has promoted a greater understanding and appreciation for the music, art, history, and culture of Italian civilization through lectures, seminars, and concerts. Previous topics and events for the Series have included modern Italian politics and economics, Italian cinema, Dante´s Inferno, a day trip to Staten Island, and most recently, a wine tasting of Italy´s northern regions.
Immaculata University, a Catholic liberal arts institution is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
