Michael Imperato Named New Director of Residence Life and Student Development

Mr. Michael D. Imperato of Exton has been appointed to serve as Director of Residence Life and Student Development at Immaculata University.
Mr. Imperato has an extensive career in the enhancement of residence life at local universities. Prior to serving at Immaculata, he was the Associate Director of Resident Life at Gwynedd-Mercy College, where he helped to facilitate the development of the college´s residential community. Mr. Imperato has also held a variety of positions at
La Salle University, including Resident Director.
Michael Imperato received his B.S. in Biology/Business Administration: Management from Albright College. He went on to receive his Master of Business Administration: Management from LaSalle University. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American College Personnel Association, Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers, and the Central Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls. He is also the author of "Leadership Development: A Continual Process," which was published on Reslife.net in October 2002.
Mr. Imperato will be a great addition to the Department of Residence Life and Student Development at Immaculata University. As director, his position focuses on housing, residence life, student activities, commuter affairs and leadership development. As the University welcomes its first coeducational class, the residence halls are anticipated to be at or near capacity for the Fall 2005 semester, with undergraduate male students occupying two entire floors within the residence halls. He will also be involved in structural changes made to the University´s residence halls, which include major renovations within existing halls as well as planning for the construction of a new student center and a new residence hall.
Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, Michael graduated from Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, PA.
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of Routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
