Mary Beth Devine of Drexel Hill receives 2010 Alumni Medal from Immaculata University
Alumni Association of Immaculata University announces that Drexel Hill, PA, resident Mary Beth Devine ´89, is the recipient of the Alumni Medal for 2010. The Alumni Medal is presented to recognize outstanding volunteer service and support to Immaculata University. Mary Beth´s loyalty and commitment to Immaculata is an excellent example to other alumni.
As an advocate of strong Catholic principles, Mary Beth believes that Immaculata´s traditions and values are what keep her so close to its community. "It is what makes the Immaculata community such a close-knit family. It is that heritage, those beliefs, that deep, undaunting faith which gives me the strength to believe in myself and to face life´s challenges, knowing I have the support of not only my immediate family, but the Immaculata family behind me," comments Mary Beth.
Graduating from Immaculata University in 1989, Mary Beth earned her B.A. degree in Economics and Business Administration with a pre-law certificate. While at Immaculata, she served as a class officer as well as President of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. In 1992, Mary Beth received her Juris Doctor degree from Temple University School of Law. For several years she worked as an associate in a Philadelphia law firm before becoming founder, president and attorney at Devine Law Associates, P.C. in Drexel Hill, PA, in 1996.
Mary Beth has been an active, elected member of the Immaculata Alumni Board of Governors from 1999 to the present. Over the years, she has served on various committees on behalf of the Alumni, including Class Representatives Committee, the Chapter Organization Committee, and Homecoming Committee. She has also acted as chair of the Social Action Committee and serves as Chair of the Constitutional Committee since 2002. In addition, Mary Beth also works Planned Giving and Stewardship and serves as Chair of the Planned Giving Committee for Immaculata since 2007. She also volunteers her time at various campus activities including telethon, the annual Immaculata University Art Show, the Amethyst Night benefit, and Carol Night, among numerous other functions.
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
