IU Names Dr. Janet Kane Assistant VP for Academic Affairs
Immaculata University announces that Janet Kane, Ed.D., of Glen Mills, PA, has been promoted to assistant vice president for Academic Affairs and will continue in her role as the dean for the College of Graduate Studies. Her additional responsibilities as assistant vice president include academic reporting; budget management; new faculty orientation assistance and mentoring; adjunct faculty appointments, evaluations, and contracts; and schedule day and graduate classes.
Dr. Kane has been with the University since 1986 when she served as professor and chairperson for the undergraduate Psychology program. During her time at Immaculata, Dr. Kane has also served as the dean of the College of Undergraduate Studies before becoming the dean of the College of Graduate Studies in 2009.
Earning her undergraduate degree from Goucher College in Maryland, Dr. Kane continued her education receiving her M.S. and Ed.D. from Johns Hopkins University. In 1990 she earned a School Psychologist certification from Immaculata University. Keeping current in her field, she retains memberships in several professional associations including the American Psychological Association, American Association of University Professors, National Academic Advising Association and has attended numerous Middle States Commission on Higher Education conferences and training workshops.
