IU Announces the Appointment of Jody Roberts as Assistant Coach of Men’s Soccer
Southern New Jersey resident Jody Roberts has been chosen as the men´s soccer assistant coach at Immaculata University. He is well-known in collegiate soccer circles for his ability to develop winning programs quickly. Coach Roberts carries a record of 61-44-8 at the NCAA Division I and NJCAA Division III levels and comes to Immaculata from the USL/PDL Reading Rage and Gloucester County College (NJCAA Division III) where he directed the men´s program in his second season to a 7-6-1 record â€“ its first winning season and play-off appearance since 1996.
Coach Roberts was also the technical coach and recruiting coordinator at Philadelphia University (NCAA Division I) and assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Camden County College (NJCAA Division III) where he was instrumental in the team´s rise to national prominence. The team had posted a three-season 40-12-1 record complete with two regional semifinal appearances, one regional final appearance, and annual national rankings. He began his coaching career at Gloucester County College where he served as assistant coach of the women´s soccer team; the team posted a 7-6-3 record and advanced to the regional quarterfinals for the first time.
As the former national staff coach and current Mid-Atlantic regional coach for the Super Y League´s Olympic Development Program, he is responsible for directing the program´s efforts to identify talent that could eventually progress to the National Team. Coach Roberts holds a United States Soccer Federation "C" national license.
He lives with his wife, son, and two daughters in Sicklerville, NJ.
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducation liberal arts institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
