Immaculata University Students Raised Funds for Breast Cancer
University students, who are members of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Club, organized a successful event to raise funds and awareness of breast cancer with "Bobsledding for Breast Cancer" held at Immaculata University. Ninety tickets were sold for the event that raised over $3,000 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.
Nazareth, PA, resident Christina Glantz, a junior at Immaculata, is on the executive board of SIFE and was the team leader who, along with seven members from the club, helped plan the event. They collected 15 gift baskets for the raffle and secured the grand prize which consisted of two nights´ stay at Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid, NY, two bobsledding rides, two ski and snowboarding passes, and tours of the Olympic Training Center and the Olympic Museum.
"This event was so successful and it was all thanks to my great group of team members, friends and family who helped. We are all happy to have helped others who really need it and can´t wait until next year! We want to raise even more!" commented Christina about the Bobsledding for Breast Cancer event. She is excited about next year´s event and is already in the planning stages.
SIFE is an international non-profit organization that mobilizes students to create economic opportunity for others while discovering their own potential.
Immaculata University is a Catholic, coeducational institution, located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
