Immaculata University Presents Workshop and Concert on “Great Minds Speak Through Music”
Immaculata University will present a two-day workshop entitled Circles of Expression: Great Minds Speak Through Music. On Friday, March 20, Dr. William Carr, professor of music and Steinway Artist, will give a recital starting at 7:30 p.m. Part Two of the workshop takes place on Saturday, March 21, with a lecture from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Villa Maria, Memorial Hall. William Carr, MA, DMA will continue as the instructor. Patrons may experience the recital without taking the workshop. The recital is free and open to the public.
This Circle´s objective is to explore the creative process of music and its application to business management, psychology, therapeutic modalities, problem solving and decision making. In addition, Dr. Carr will explore composers as strategic thinkers whose creative approaches can be adapted to diverse disciplines. An informance presentation, developed by the presenter for multinational corporations, will be discussed.
Cost for the one-credit course if taken at the graduate level is $540 and $400 for the undergraduate level. It is also offered as a non-credit workshop for $180. For more information, contact the College of Graduate Studies at 610-647-4400, ext. 3211.
