Immaculata University Presents 24th Annual Art Show

The 24th Annual Immaculata University Art Show begins on Friday, February 2, 2007, with a premier ticketed reception from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The show will then run free of charge from Saturday, February 3 through Sunday, February 11. Each year, the Art Show features original works by regional, national, and international juried artists. This year´s show will present 150 artists´ works, which will be available for purchase and on display in Alumnae Hall and the Faculty Center on the university´s campus. All proceeds of this event benefit Immaculata University´s programs and scholarship fund.
Mary Ann Weselyk, of Unionville, PA, is this year´s featured artist. A participant in the Immaculata University Art Show since 1999, Ms. Weselyk is a full-time artist who specializes in oil paintings, but occasionally branches out to acrylic and monotypes. In her career, Ms. Weselyk, who was trained by Ray Dijohn, has received many awards, and has been displayed and owned locally and throughout the world. Ms. Weselyk´s daughter, Hattie Weselyk, of Springfield, PA, will also participate in this year´s show, presenting her bronze sculptures.
"We are really excited about the 2007 show," says Immaculata University´s Director of Special Events, Pamela Panarella, "Every year we try to create a show with a fresh look and new perspective to keep it interesting and original for our patrons. Our art committee members are busy all year visiting other shows and galleries seeking out new and diverse talent. This year we will be introducing over 40 new artists from a variety of countries including Japan, China, South Korea and the Republic of Belarus."
Admission to the ticketed Preview Reception on February 2 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. is $50 per person.
