Immaculata University Hosts 4th Annual Spirituality Day
Immaculata University´s Spirituality Under the Dome series announces its fourth annual "Spirituality Day" on Saturday, April 10, 2010, beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Alumnae Hall. The registration fee is $35.00 and participants must pre-register. Chris Lowney, author of Heroic Leadership and, his most recent book, Heroic Living, will be the keynote speaker.
Mr. Lowney assists people in discovering their purpose in life and then being moved to change the world. He writes: "the time for the civilization of self is over. Let´s start building the civilization of love." Prior to joining J.P. Morgan & Co. in various senior-level positions worldwide, Mr. Lowney was a Jesuit seminarian for seven years. The stark contrast between the leadership lessons he learned while with the Jesuits and the modern corporate world is the subject of his first book Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-Year-Old Company that Changed the World. The book was the #1 ranked bestseller of the Catholic Book Publisher´s Association and was named a finalist for a 2003 Book of the Year from Foreword Magazine. It has been translated into ten languages.
Sister Mary Henrich, IHM, program director for Immaculata University´s Spirituality Under the Dome, commented that, "A secret of the spiritual life is slowing down. Take a day for yourself and come, reflect, discover and articulate your purpose in life."
The Spirituality Under the Dome series seeks to provide space for prayer, presenters and performers as a way of nourishing and supporting people´s expressed desire to live in meaningful relationship with God and neighbors.
