Immaculata University Announces May Workshops

IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES MAY WORKSHOPS
Immaculata University will offer on-campus undergraduate workshops for personal and professional development during the month of May.
COMMUNICATION IN THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT. Students analyze and apply the skills necessary for effective interpersonal communication in the business environment. This workshop focuses on appreciation of the models, intentions, and habits exhibited by others and how to develop an individual communication style and flexibility. Stacy L. Linkins leads this course on Wednesdays, May 21 and 28 and Thursday, May 22, from, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. The cost is $380 for one credit or $170 for non-credit.
INFORMATION RESEARCH METHODS. With the amount of information growing at an exponential rate, it becomes difficult to wade through and select quality information. This course examines the research process – from selecting a topic to finding and evaluating information, to documenting the sources and knowing the ethical implication of information use. Carol Howe, MLIS, will lead this online class which begins on Monday, May 19, and concludes June 5. The cost is $380 for one credit or $170 for non-credit.
CYBERCRIME. This course introduces the types of technology crimes committed in whole or part through the use of computers and other sophisticated technologies. Students examine the attributes of hackers, phreakers, and crackers and investigate identity theft and cyber sex crimes. The expertise of the perpetrators and the specifics of the crime inhibit law enforcement´s investigative response and that of the criminal justice system. James Konieczny leads this class on Friday, May 23, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. and continues on Saturday, May 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $380 for one credit or $170 for non-credit.
