Immaculata Basketball Great Theresa Shank Grentz ’74 Inducted into Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame
Adding to her impressive playing and coaching achievements, Immaculata University alumna and basketball star Theresa Shank Grentz ´74, will be inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. Theresa will be honored at the December 12, ceremony with 67 other members of the 2007 induction class.
Leading Immaculata University to three national women´s basketball championships from 1972-1974, Theresa accumulated over 1,000 points and was named a first-team All-American for three consecutive years. She coached the 1992 Women´s Olympic Basketball Team, and is the former women´s head basketball coach for Rutgers University and the University of Illinois. She is a founding member of the Women´s Basketball Coaches Association and served as president from 1999-2001.
Recently, Theresa returned to Immaculata University as assistant to the vice president for Student Affairs. Within this new role, she brings a wealth of expertise in all areas of student life and development.
