IM-MACU-LA-TA, Hey!

Immaculata University (IU) launched its new radio commercial up and down the shore over the July 4th
weekend. The catchy rap tune entitled POWER was created to recruit undergraduate students in the
region. The radio spot is part of Immaculata University´s new marketing campaign – WHAT MAKES IMMACULATA U?
Lyrics from the nearly three minute rap song (the radio spot was sampled at 30 seconds) include:
You´ve got the power to do anything
No matter who you are or what people around you think
Yeah, I´ve got it, you´ve got it, we´ve got it
Don´t hide it, no matter what you do
Immaculata U
One verse of the song is dedicated to IU´s women´s basketball team. Considered to be the birthplace of
modern college women´s basketball, the Immaculata Mighty Macs won the first three national women´s
college basketball championships in 1972, 1973 and 1974 (visit www.yearofthemightymacs.com). The
theatrical film THE MIGHTY MACS (www.themightymacs.com) will be released nationwide by SONY
Pictures on October 21, 2011.
Lyrics paying tribute to the IU women´s basketball team´s success are:
Never give up on a dream
As farfetched or as tough as it may seem
Cause you never know, anything is possible
Whenever faith is on your side, you´re unstoppable
Like the ´72, ´73 and ‘74
Mighty Macs, when they stepped on the floor
The ladies brought home three championships
That´s called ballin´, don´t forget the snap of the wrist
Immaculata University´s Vice President for University Communications Robert Cole partnered with the
EFK Group, a Trenton, New Jersey based advertising agency, on the creation of the commercial. The rap
was written and performed by local musicians Chris Gregory and Mike Antoniotti.
"The commercial is designed to market Immaculata and extend the institution´s brand while also
promoting the University´s Catholic identity," Cole said.
Links to the full song, 30-second radio spot and a video of the commercial performed by the artists have
been attached in this press release.
Immaculata University, a Catholic comprehensive, coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of
Philadelphia, south of the intersections of route 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
