Honey Brook Resident Receives Alumnae/i Medal from Immaculata University
The Alumni Association of Immaculata University has selected Mary Carole Barringer of Honeybrook, PA, as the 2006 recipient of the Alumnae/i Medal. This medal is presented in recognition of outstanding volunteer service and support to Immaculata University.
Mary Carole, a continuing education student, graduated from Immaculata in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Early Childhood Education. Along with her husband Dick, Mary Carole has steadfastly supported Immaculata in the years since her graduation, donating both time and money to the University. Mary Carole and Dick regularly support Immaculata´s building projects and frequently attend the University´s Art Show, theater productions, and musical events.
For a considerable amount of time, Mary Carole has served on Immaculata University´s Board of Governors. She has been a strong and effective leader in important volunteer activities at Immaculata, serving as a member and chairperson of the Alumni Fundraising Committee, chairperson of the Amethyst Ball and co-chairperson of Amethyst Night, and chairperson of the Car Show. Mary Carole has also faithfully served as a member of the Annual Art Show Committee and the Homecoming Committee. Additionally, Mary Carole served on a committee charged with determining the feasibility of admitting men into the College of Undergraduate Studies.
Also important to Mary Carole is Hopewell Methodist Church, where she is an active member of the congregation.
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
