Exton Resident to Teach Nursing at Immaculata University

Exton resident Jane Hsiao-Chen Tang, Ph.D., has joined the faculty of Immaculata University as assistant professor in Nursing. She will be teaching in the ACCEL® program.
Since 1996, Dr. Tang has served as research assistant (1996-2001), teaching assistant (1997-2000), and as project director (2000-2004) for the College of Nursing, University of Iowa. Her clinical experience includes nursing resident in Nursing Administration for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In her native hometown of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, she was a staff nurse at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
In Taiwan, she received her diploma from the National Taipei College of Nursing. She earned her BSN from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska, and received both her MSN and Ph.D., from the University of Iowa.
During her career, she has been certified and held licensures as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, Iowa, California, and Taiwan. To keep current in her profession, Dr. Tang maintains memberships in the Nurses Christian Fellowship, the Midwest Nursing Research Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has stayed active by serving as a volunteer for the Iowa City Hospice. While at the University of Iowa she served as co-chair for the Association of Graduate Nursing Students, and volunteered for the Student Health Center, International Programs, Cultural Diversity Awareness Activity, and was a student mentor. While at Midland Lutheran College she was the president of the International Student Organization.
In 2005, she earned the Second Place Award for the doctorate-level Graduate Student Poster given by the Midwest Nursing Research Society. Dr. Tang also received

the Myrtle Aydelotte Doctoral Education Award in Nursing and earned the Evelyn McCann Student Financial Aid Scholarship, the Eliose Z. Leinfelder Fellowship Fund, the Nordstrom International Scholarship, the General Endowed Scholarship, and the International Student Scholarship.
