CHESTER COUNTY RESIDENT ED VANDERNOOT NAMED THE FEATURED ARTIST
FOR THE IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY ANNUAL ART SHOW
Immaculata University announces that Ed VanderNoot, of Chester County, will be the featured artist for the 22nd Annual Immaculata University Art Show. Mr. VanderNoot, a native of New York and graduate of the Pratt Institute, began a career teaching in local New York City schools, which immediately led to a career in commercial art design, in particular small-scale paintings. His work has a distinct flare. He is nicknamed "the Old Master" for certain luminosity and a timeless quality in his works, which has imagination and originality. He was a set designer for dramas at the Provincetown Playhouse, as well as the Cherry Lane Theatre. He also freelanced for major department stores, newspapers and magazines in New York City. Some of these well-known works appeared in publications such as the New Yorker, Seventeen, and Good Housekeeping. He is quoted as saying "to the inexhaustible mystery of painting…it is the air I breathe, the music I hear, the dreams I dream."
Original works by over 200 nationally known juried artists will be for sale and on display. All proceeds from the Art Show benefit the university´s scholarship fund.
An opening premier reception will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2005, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The show runs from Sunday, February 6 through Sunday, February 13, and is open daily from Noon to 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays from Noon to 5:00 p.m. For more information on the Immaculata University Art Show or to register for the premier
