Dr. William Carr Performs with Main Line Symphony

Dr. William Carr, a resident of Malvern, PA., and a Steinway Artist/Professor of Music at Immaculata University, will perform with the Main Line Symphony on Friday, November 9, at 8 p.m. at the Valley Forge Middle School.

Dr. Carr will be the soloist in a performance of Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Major.  The Orchestra will also perform Beethoven’s King Stephen Overture Opus 117 and Tchaikowsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E Minor.

Dr. Carr received degrees in piano performance from Temple University.  He continued his studies under the world-renowned Adele Marcus at the Julliard School in the Graduate Professional Studies Program.  He received his Doctoral of Musical Arts Degree in piano performance from The Catholic University of America.  He earned post-doctoral performance certificates from the Munich Conservatory in Chamber Music and from the Listzt Weimer Conservatory through studies with concert pianist Paul Badura-Skoda in Germany and Austria.  Dr. Carr also holds a master’s degree in International Relations/International Business from theWhartonSchoolat the University of Pennsylvania.  He was the first recipient of the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award at Immaculata University.
