Dr. Thomas Scholvin Joins Education Department at Immaculata University
Immaculata University named Cochranville, PA, resident Dr. Thomas Scholvin assistant professor of education. Since 1995, Dr. Scholvin had served as superintendent of schools for the Octorara Area School District. He also served as superintendent of the Muncy School District in Muncy, PA for nine years. During his career in education, his positions have included principal of Muncy Junior/Senior High School, assistant high school principal at Sayre High School in Sayre, PA, adjunct professor at Bloomsburg State University in Bloomsburg, PA, and business education teacher at both Shikellamy High School in Sunbury, PA and Wyomissing High School in Wyomissing, PA. From 1999 to 2005, he served as an adjunct professor at Immaculata University.
In 1971, Dr. Scholvin received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Bloomsburg State University. He continued his education earning a Master of Education from Bloomsburg State University and his Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He also earned a Principal´s Certification in 1978 and a Superintendent´s Letter of Eligibility in 1986, both from Bucknell University. As a professional in the educational field, Dr. Scholvin holds memberships in Phi Delta Kappa, the American Association of School Administrators, the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Pennsylvania Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Federal Program Coordinators, and the Pennsylvania Association of Personnel Administrators.

Dr. Scholvin coached the football, basketball, and baseball teams while he was a teacher at both Wyomissing and Shikellamy high schools. He resides in Cochranville with his wife Margaret Scholvin; they have three grown children and four grandchildren.
