Dr. Rena Quinton Appointed Director of the Dietetic Internship at Immaculata University

Immaculata University recently appointed Malvern, PA resident Rena Quinton as director of the Dietetic Internship. In addition, Dr. Quinton will also serve as assistant professor of Nutrition for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Prior to accepting the position at Immaculata, Dr. Quinton held several teaching positions around the country. From May of 1994 to August of 1997, she was the senior public health nutritionist in the West Palm Beach County Public Health Unit. She was adjunct faculty at Marywood University from August 1999 to December of 2002. In October of 2001, she became a consultant dietitian for the North Central District AIDS Coalition in Lock Haven, PA. In this position she provided nutritional assessment and counseling to HIV-positive clients. Her most recent job was as an assistant professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, TX. She taught several courses including Cultural and Community Aspects of Foods, Nutrition I, Food Preparation & Meal Management, and Senior Seminar.
She has extensive experience and education. She earned a MS and a PhD in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University. Dr. Quinton has a BA in Anthropology from Princeton University where she received high honors. She currently holds memberships with the American Dietetic Association, Society for Nutrition Education, and the American Anthropological Association.
Dr. Quinton commented that, "I am delighted to be at Immaculata; there is such a positive atmosphere here."
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
