On Friday, May 9, Carr performed selections of classical music by Schubert, Haydn, Beethoven and Chopin at Marple Newtown High School in support of their purchase of a new Steinway Model B, 7’ piano. This event was sponsored by Steinway.  Then on Tuesday, May 13, Carr performed the same musical selections at a luncheon concert at the Philadelphia Country Club for Perspectives in Music.  In late June, Dr. Carr will also be touring Italy with his first concert there on June 29 in Siena.

He has given these seminars at Columbia University, Dartmouth College, the Wharton School, and at more than 30 corporations in the U.S. and abroad. He has also presented at the American Society for Training and Development, the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals, and at the American Creativity Association, a forum that promotes creativity and innovation in a wide range of industries and disciplines.

Carr studied piano at the Juilliard School with Adele Marcus as well as at Temple University, and he earned his doctorate in piano at the Catholic University of America with Marcus. He continued his studies in Vienna and at the Munich Conservatory and the Liszt Conservatory in Germany.  In 2005 he was named a Steinway Artist, a prestigious title that recognizes the most exceptional music performers in the world. He has taught at Immaculata for 20 years, and in 1998, he was honored as the first recipient of the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award.
