Dr. Anthony Meadows Joins Music Therapy Department of Immaculata University

Immaculata University announces that Philadelphia (19118) resident Anthony Meadows, Ph.D., has joined the faculty of Immaculata University as assistant professor in the Music Therapy Department. In addition to coordinating clinical training, he will be instructing undergraduate and graduate level students.
Before coming to Immaculata University, Dr. Meadows was affiliate faculty in the music therapy program at Temple University, where he taught upper level graduate courses. He also worked at the Joan Karnell Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital where he served as music therapist. In 1989, he began his professional career as senior music therapist at St. Paul´s School for the Blind in Australia. Teaching a variety of music therapy programs during his career, he has taught at the Institute for Music and Consciousness at Anna Maria College, Montclair State University in New Jersey, and the University of Melbourne in Australia.
In 1988, he received his Bachelor of Music (Therapy) from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He continued his education, receiving a Master of Music Therapy and his Ph.D. in Music Therapy and Educational Psychology, both from Temple University. He also holds Fellowship in the Association for Music and Imagery (FAMI) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania.
To keep current in his profession, Dr. Meadows is an active member in the Assembly of Delegates for the American Music Therapy Association and the continuing education committee for the Certification Board for Music Therapists. He currently serves on the editorial review boards for the Qualitative Inquiries in Music Therapy, the Australian Journal of Music Therapy, and the Journal of the Association for Music and Imagery. Throughout his career, Dr. Meadows has given numerous workshops and presentations on music therapy worldwide.

Dr. Meadows lives with his family in Philadelphia, PA.
