Children’s Theatre of Immaculata Presents “Gary Grinkle’s Battles with Wrinkles and Other Troubles in Mudgeville”
The Children´s Theater of Immaculata University celebrates another season with the production of Gary Grinkle´s Battles with Wrinkles and Other Troubles in Mudgeville. Performances take place on Wednesday, March 12, Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Alumnae Hall Theater on the University´s campus.
Author Stefan Graves Lanfer calls Mudgeville, "an unusual town, where fears – big and small, real and imagined – keep everyone hidden away in their homes." While Gary Grinkle fears he has never completely ironed all the wrinkles out of his clothes, other citizens of Mudgeville cringe at things such as rain, germs and even missing a favorite TV show. All this is about to change, however, when Martin A. Maven comes to town and makes something magical happen.
The University´s involvement with theater for children began as an interim course in the winter of 1971. After that initial production, Immaculata students have entertained thousands of local children with 38 plays. The offerings have ranged from classic fairy tales to imaginative plays written by members of Immaculata´s Cue and Curtain Players. The plays that spark laughter are the most popular; frequently, these are the well known stories.
Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children and students; in addition group rates (10 children or more) are available. All seats for every performance must be reserved. Alumnae Hall is accessible to people with special needs. For more information and reservations contact 610-647-4400, ext. 3731 or 3022.
Immaculata University, a Catholic, coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
