2013-08-25-Trio Casals2

Esteemed pianist and Immaculata University Music Department faculty member, Janet Ahlquist, will be performing at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on October 15, 2013 at 8:00PM.  Ms. Ahlquist is a member of the Trio International which consists of Ovidiu Marinescu, cello; Sylvia Ahramjian, violin; and Ahlquist, piano.  The group will be performing Ascioti’s Trio, Mountain Meditation, which is inspired by the Adirondack Mountains.  In addition, Ahlquist and Marinescu will perform Dr. Arthur Gottschalk’s Sonato for Cello and Piano: In Memoriam. This piece is technically and musically demanding for both artists and must be performed with great precision.

Ms. Ahlquist received her M.M. and completed coursework for the D.M.A. from the Eastman School of Music where she was awarded the prestigious Performer’s Certificate.  She received the Artist Diploma from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge and was a scholarship student at the Julliard School.  As an affiliate in Music at Immaculata, she has been teaching piano to students for eight years.

Purchase tickets for the concert at www.carnegiehall.org or 212.247.7800.  Tickets for concert are $25.00; $15.00 for Seniors.
