Crisis Resources

The following are resources for any students in crisis:

  • National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
  • Crisis Text Line: Text ‘Home’ to 741-741
  • The Trevor Project (LGBT): 1-866-488-7386 or text ‘Trevor’ to 1-202-304-1200

If you are a staff or faculty member with a student in crisis off-campus, or if you are worried about the welfare of one of your online students:

  • Call Campus Safety (610-647-4400 x5555), and they can alert the counselor on-call for a telephone consultation.
  • If the student is communicating that they are feeling suicidal, call 911 or bring the student to the nearest emergency room (if you are in a hospital).
  • Look up the student’s address, call their local police station, and have them do a "welfare check" on the student.

If for some reason you are not able to reach the on-call counselor, the following provide 24/7 in-person crisis assessment:

  • Chester County: Valley Creek Crisis Center, 877-918-2100
  • Delaware County: DCCCT Mobile Crisis Services, 855-889-7827
