Admission Requirements

  • Applicants to the Nutrition Education Graduate Program are required to have a bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field. Students applying to the dietetic internship must also complete American Dietetic Association academic prerequisites.
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Prerequisite course work including:
    • General Chemistry with laboratory
    • Organic Chemistry with laboratory
    • Biochemistry with laboratory
    • Nutrition (with an organic chemistry prerequisite)
    • Anatomy and Physiology
    • Microbiology
    • Statistics

As deemed necessary, students will be required to take undergraduate courses to meet these admission requirements prior to acceptance into the graduate program.

  • Acceptable scores on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). (Applicants with an undergraduate grade point average of 3.5 or greater are not required to submit test scores.)
  • Completion of the graduate admissions application. Students applying to the dietetic internship must also complete the dietetic supervised practice application.
