At this year's Edith Stein lecture, Jem Sullivan, Ph.D., director of research at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, will present "The Beauty of Faith: Christian Art at the Service of the New Evangelization." This lecture will explore the “way of beauty,” the “via pulchritudinous,” as a powerful and culturally relevant way to bring the light of the Gospel to an image-saturated culture. The presentation will include reflection on a few masterpieces of Christian art.
This event is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is recommended. Please RSVP by October 1 to Trish Dudkiewicz at firstname.lastname@example.org or 484.323.3438. Refreshments will be served at 6:30, and the lecture will begin at 7 p.m.
Sponsored by the Philosophy and Theology departments of Immaculata University, the Edith Stein Lecture Series is an annual lecture series in the spirit of Edith Stein, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, OCD, celebrating the dialogue between faith and reason.
