Kendall Peters, sports management

"I chose to attend Immaculata because I thought the values and intimacy of a smaller school would be more beneficial to my education. There was a low teacher-to-student ratio, which allowed me to have strong relationships with many of my professors and learn from them beyond the classroom. Along with that, I was able to play on the basketball team. Being a student-athlete brought unique challenges that prepared me to overcome obstacles and adversity in the professional world. I work in sports, which is very fast-paced. Getting involved with different clubs, sports, work-study experiences, and social outings prepared me to stay responsible and deliver results in ambiguous work environments."

—Kendall Peters '13, Sales and Engagement Analyst at Minnesota Vikings Football

Bridget Welz, sports management major"I get to go to work every day and find different ways to make people happy through sports, which is exactly what sports did for me, and exactly the reason why I went into sports management. ... I chose Immaculata because it was very family-oriented, a faith-based community. It’s a hidden gem. It’s small, but in a way that’s really personable and that helps you get to the next step. The one-on-one attention, the relationships that I’ve had with my teachers, and their network is the reason why I’m in the roles I’m in today. My degree turned into my career, which not everyone gets to say. I am doing what I love, and my classes in leadership dynamics, event management, and marketing prepared me for my job.”
