Are you a confident writer? Are you a not-so-confident writer? Is your writing strong? Is your writing weak at times? Do you simply like to be around other writers when you are writing? Do you like to brainstorm with a peer writer about what to write? Do you need advice on how to revise your papers? Are you unsure about documentation styles? Have you committed a comma splice lately? If the answer is "yes" to any one of these questions, then visit the Writing Center!
The Writing Center at Immaculata University is focused on enhancing the writing skills of Immaculata students. Our goal is to help writers across the disciplines in all stages of the writing process, including planning, drafting, and revising. We offer a pleasant and supportive environment where writing assistants as well as both print and electronic resources are available. Our writing sessions provide students with the tools necessary to become more confident and effective writers.
Writing is a key component of the academic process. Learning to think, speak, read and write critically is the goal of most students in higher learning. By diligently working on their writing process in college, students can gain the writing skills essential to many careers that are offered in the world today. Students will be ready to apply their writing knowledge to both the workplace and their daily lives.
We are open 45 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 16 hours per week during the summer sessions. Fall and Spring Hours: Monday - Thursday 9 a.m.-7 p.m. & Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 3 p.m.-7 p.m. The Writing Center is closed when the College of Undergraduate Studies is not in session.
