Ms. Kelly Meashey, MMT, MT-BC, FAMI, LCAT, has been a board-certified practicing music therapist since 1982, and a professional jazz/pop vocalist since 1981. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1982 and her master’s degree in 2000 in Music Therapy from Temple University. She is a Fellow of the Association of Music and Imagery and has been trained in vocal psychotherapy by Dr. Diane Austin.
Ms. Meashey has taught classical and contemporary vocal performance majors at The University of the Arts and Temple University. She has also been a professional vocalist since 1981 and has a CD out on the Dreambox Media label.
Currently, she teaches professional and advanced level voice skills to undergraduate and graduate students, and she teaches classes in performance anxiety at the Community College of Philadelphia.
Ms. Meashey has been a practicing music therapy clinician for 30 years with 18 years of experience working in mental health facilities and 12 years of experience working in private music psychotherapy practice. As a self-employed clinical music therapist, Ms. Meashey has worked for 18 years with individuals with severe/profound mental retardation, anxiety, depression, trauma, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, hearing impairment, learning disabilities, psychosis, brain injury from stroke and car accidents, cerebral palsy, and visual impairment.
