Ms. Dolores Ferraro received her M.M. and B.Mus. on full scholarship from Combs College of Music, Philadelphia. She studied privately with Metropolitan Opera soprano Licia Albanese and noted dramatic tenor, Thomas LoMonaco. Ms. Ferraro has coached with Warren Wilson, Nicola Palumbo, Stuart Ross, and Jon Spong in New York, and with Howard Haines in Philadelphia. She received the Regional Finalist Award from the Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
Ms. Ferraro has been a recitalist and soprano soloist throughout the United States and abroad. She has performed in opera, oratorio, and concert venues that include Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center; Academy of Music; and Trinity Center for Urban Arts in Philadelphia; Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee; as well as major Cathedrals in Paris. Ms. Ferraro performed song and operatic premieres of contemporary American works at Carnegie Recital Hall and Hunter College in New York City; Sala Balini; Rome; Academy of Music, Philadelphia; and at the Ethical Society, Philadelphia; as well as with the Haddonfield Symphony, New Jersey. Ms. Ferraro also has performed operatic roles with New Jersey State Opera, Suburban Opera Society, Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and with the Camerata Opera Theatre.
Ms. Ferraro's extensive teaching career has covered private voice lessons, vocal coaching, master classes and clinics in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Ms. Ferraro’s professional memberships include National Association of Teachers of Singing, American Federation of Music Clubs, Society for American Music, and Philadelphia Orchestra Retirees and Friends.
