All applicants to Immaculata University are required to complete an application form. International students should apply before March 1 for fall admission to alleviate problems of visa clearance and mail service delays. Applications for the term beginning in January must be completed by September 1.
All of us at Immaculata University greatly value our international campus population and it is our aim to make the process straightforward for all students.
Please read the sections below and determine which student type best represents your individual situation. You can apply to Immaculata in one of three categories: freshman, transfer, or graduate student. Each of the student types listed below will lead you through the application process.
English Requirements for International Students
If English is not your first language you must provide evidence of your written and spoken English skills.
From students who take IELTS (The British Council’s International English Language Testing System), Immaculata accepts an overall score of 6.0 or above for undergraduate students and a score of 6.5 or above for graduate students. You can access the IELTS site at
www.ielts.org.
From students who take TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), we look for 513/183/65* or above for undergraduate students and 550/213/79* for graduate students. (* Scores for paper-based/computer-based/internet-based versions of TOEFL). You can access the TOEFL site at
www.ets.org/toefl.
Living on Campus
It is recommended that entering freshmen in the College of Undergraduate Studies live in the student residence halls unless they have made appropriate arrangements for off-campus housing approved by a relative or guardian.
To apply for University Housing, a new student must submit a housing deposit with the Office of Admissions. Once the deposit is received, the Office of Commuter and Residence Life will mail out a packet containing key information and forms to be completed and returned. For international students, the information can be faxed to help expedite the process to Student Development and Engagement (610-407-9754). Included in the packet are a Housing Application and a Housing and Board Agreement. Once these items are returned, a student will be placed in University Housing. During the summer, a Housing Assignment Notification is sent to all students indicating who their roommate(s) will be for the upcoming semester.
Priority for University Housing is for those enrolled in the College of Undergraduate Studies. If available, University Housing may be available to students in the College of LifeLong Learning and students in the College of Graduate Studies. In general, spaces available to CLL and CGS students would be in Marchwood Apartments (Exton, Pa.) These apartments are assigned by the University and utilities, etc are covered through the student’s room charges. In contrast to the residence halls, the apartments remain open the entire academic year and do not close until May. A student must first complete academic registration to be eligible for University Housing.
Off Campus Housing
Students can obtain information about the process of exploring off-campus housing, working with landlords, and other factors from the Office of Residence Life. In addition, a listing of off-campus rental properties is available for student viewing in the office. The properties listed are done so at the request of the landlords to assist students in locating possible off-campus housing opportunities. Immaculata University makes no representation whatsoever regarding the housing or the landlords in this listing. Students are responsible to inspect the property and negotiate lease terms with any landlord.
Official Arrival Date
You are expected to arrive in the United States by the date indicated on your Form I-20. The International Student Orientation at Immaculata University is scheduled for the Saturday before classes begin. It is recommended that you plan your arrival according to the first day of school.
