Saturday, August 27, 3011

  • FYE Serves has been cancelled, NSO II will proceed with the following schedule adjustments for Saturday:

    • 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM – Light Breakfast in Dining Hall for New Students

    • 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Lunch Available in the Dining Hall for New Students

    • 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM – Virtual Tools and Real Success will be held in the Theater

    • 1:15 PM – Success 101 Rotations (Civility: Student Responsibilities in Action held in the Theater & Community Summit Activity held in Loyola 127)

    • 2:15 PM – NSO Community Building in Small Groups in the Gymnasium

    • 5:30 to 7:00 PM – Dinner will be available in the Dining Hall for New and Returning Students

    • 7:00 PM – Preacher Moss – End of Racism Tour in the Theater (Please note: this is contingent on our presenter coming to campus, if this is cancelled an announcement will be made).

    • 8:30 PM – Graffiti Dance Party and Class of 2012 sponsored Pizza Party in the Great Hall

  • Commuter students who use SEPTA please be advised that all SEPTA bus, trolley and rail service in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, will cease operations at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. Seven regional rail lines will stop operating on Saturday afternoon because Amtrak is also canceling service. 

  • Returning Student Check-In will take place from 12:00 to 3:00 PM with a structured process, during which time the following services will be available:

    • Residence Life & Housing

    • Commuter Connections

    • Student Health Services

    • One Card & Parking

    • Business Office

    • Financial Aid

    • Registrar’s Office

  • Residence Life & Housing will accommodate students who cannot move-in during the structured process period and will check them in as needed.  For those students arriving after the structured process, the following offices will be available when regular business hours resume:

    • Residence Life & Housing

    • Commuter Connections

    • Student Health Services

    • One Card & Parking (open to 7:00 PM the first two weeks of school)

    • Business Office

    • Financial Aid

    • Registrar’s Office

Sunday, August 28, 2011

  • All NSO II programming for Sunday has been cancelled.  “Are You Getting the Signal?” will be rescheduled for another date.  

  • Please note that Residence Hall Community Meetings will take place. Please see you RA for a time and location.

  • Residence Life & Housing will accommodate students who cannot move-in during the structured period. (One Card can remote in to take care of IDs if needed. This should be coordinated through the Campus Safety Supervisor.)

  • A structured process involving University services will not be available that day. Offices will reopen when regular business hours resume. 

Throughout the Weekend

  • In the event that the University closes, a message will be sent via E2Campus. Other announcements will be made through the IU website, MyIU Portal, and the IU Class of 2015 and main University FaceBook pages.

  • Facilities has inspected all the generators and topped off fuel levels. Facilities staff will be working this weekend and will be responding to the service response line. After hours they will have on-call staff available.

  • Dining Services is prepared to handle the changes to the schedule and has ordered additional product to accommodate returning students.

  • CUS Move-In/Check-in Day will proceed as scheduled.
  • CUS NSO II will proceed as scheduled.

 

Saturday, August 27, 2011

  • In the event that FYE Serves is not cancelled, the CUS NSO II program will proceed as scheduled with the following adjustments:
    • Class Picture – contingent upon rain
    • Preacher Moss – End of Racism Tour
    • Graffiti Dance Party – will be held in the Great Hall and will be a combined event to include the Class of 2012 sponsored pizza party
  • In the event that FYE Serves is cancelled, the following programming will move from Sunday to Saturday:
    • 12:00 PM – Virtual Tools and Real Success
    • 1:15 PM – Success 101 Rotations
    • 2:15 PM – NSO Community Building in Small Groups
    • 7:00 PM – Preacher Moss – End of Racism Tour
