Who is Micheal Costello?
Michael Costello is an American Couture Fashion Designer and the first American rom (Gypsy) fashion designer. He was on Season 8 of Project Runway and finished in fourth place. He returned to Project Runway for their All-Star season and was the first finalist and was able to show his collection at the 2010 Mercedez-Benz Fashion week.
One of the interesting facts about Costello is that he never went to school to learn his craft, he is self-taught. Costello made his very first couture collection with lipstick productions of Los Angeles at age fourteen. This earned him reviews and listings in magazines such as Vogue (the most famous of them all) and Glue Magazine. At age fifteen, Costello opened his first boutique and then went to intern with Bon-Marie of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising for a year. Then at the age of sixteen, he started working for Claire’s Collection, which specialized in pageant gowns, and since then he has been on a mission to build his brand and make his business flourish with fashion.
Since Project Runway, Costello opened a showroom in the garment district of Downtown Los Angeles and has been fashioning new lines and collections. Costello’s most recent celebrity portfolio consist of Beyoncé, Tamar Braxton, Toni Braxton, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Celine Dion, Michelle Williams, and many more. Lately, his work has been seen on Housewives of Orange County and award shows such as the Grammy’s.
