Uniqlo Ramps Up Fashion With Spring Collaborations
Revealing the product of its first collaborations with fashion icon Inès de la Fressange and Nigo Takizawa, Uniqlo is reviving the fashion part of spring. Inès de la Fressange and Nigo met last May where the two collaborated on the collection, giving it a vintage French feel. “I wanted to make the clothes in her wardrobe,” Takizawa explained, also stating that while the two were at de la Fressange’s Parisian home, she toke pieces out of her closet for this inspiration. “It’s amazing the ‘kawaii’ (Japanese word for “cute”) taste that she brings,” he added. Uniqlo design director Naoki Takizawa was inspired to interact with de la Fressange when he spotted a photo of the fashion icon and former model wearing Uniqlo designs. Inès de la Fressange mentioned, “Everything can be mixed together. All kinds of women from all countries can wear it.” In March when the collection hits Uniqlo stores worldwide, scarves, jewelry, loungewear, glasses and stationery will already be available under the core Inès de la Fressange brand. Minor stores will only have a portion of the products, while larger stores will carry the full collection.
