May 2014 Graduates: Brittany Staub
Brittany Staub is earning her Bachelors of Science in Fashion with a major in Fashion Merchandising and minors in Buying and Marketing. Her stylish and trendy fashion is what will keep her hipped in the industry.
One interesting fact:
Although I am a fashion major, I am also a singer and have been singing since I was 5 years old.
Who is your favorite designer?
I love Zac Posen and Rachel Zoe. They both have such unique styles that are so chic and very fashionable.
What trends do you love?
The trend that I love that keeps coming back is the lace incorporation. Although I can’t personally pull it off, I think it looks amazing on the models wearing the clothing in fashion shows for clothing lines specializing in these trends. For the Spring/Summer 2014 season, there is a trend board called Ladylike Lace which is such a great incorporation of lace into the product line, in my opinion.
Who are your style icons?
My main style icon is Jessica Simpson. She always looks amazing and I love her designs.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as casual chic. I usually am dressing up casual clothing such as jeans with a nice shirt, pumps/wedges, and a blazer.
What is your “Go-To” casual outfit?
My go-to casual outfit consists of a cute pair of jeans, wedges, a nice shirt, and a blazer.
What is your “Go-To” night out outfit?
For a night out, I typically wear a little black dress with a pair of pumps
When you get a chance, what are some items you like to splurge on?
I have a major purse and shoe fetish. I constantly find myself spending all of my money on new shoes and purses. I have so many of both of them to match every outfit.
What is your favorite item in your closet?
My favorite item in my closet is probably my white Lauren Conrad blazer. It goes with almost everything in my wardrobe, is very chic, and is a simple addition to dress up every outfit.
What are your plans after graduation?
My hope is to get a job in marketing or buying by the time I graduate or shortly after graduation.
What will you miss about Immaculata University?
I am probably going to miss the people at Immaculata the most. It has been so great working with all of the fantastic people that I have gotten to work with the past few years, and I am definitely going to miss these great connections that I have made. Especially the ones I made with all of my professors. Each of them taught me something different that I am always going to hold with me.
Is there any advice you want to give to upcoming fashion merchandising students?
My advice to upcoming fashion merchandising students is to make the most out of their time at Immaculata. It goes by so fast and academics, in the end, are extremely important. It is important to have fun while at school, but make sure grades are never jeopardized in the process. I can definitely say that I made the most out of my academics while at Immaculata and did the best I have ever done in school while here and am so proud of everything that I have accomplished. I can’t say I never slacked off at all, but I definitely made sure that my grades did not suffer at all as a result of it. It is definitely an amazing feeling.
