Pathways Phase 1: Academic Advising Office
To increase student success and retention, the University has developed a comprehensive development plan, one component of which is the creation of “Pathways to Success.” This program integrates academic advising, career development and academic support services under one organizational leader, at one prominent location. The area recently designated for this center is the terrace level of Villa Maria Hall which is easily accessible to students.
Due to logistical issues with the necessary relocation of various offices already existing at this location, the work is being gradually phased in using the most non-disruptive manner possible. Phase 1 involved demolition and reconstruction of four private new offices to house the Academic Advising Department, as well as waiting and receptionist areas, a mini-meeting room, and work space. In an effort to enliven the terrace level corridor and strengthen the sense of communality, these new Academic Advising offices incorporate two large, storefront-style window-walls along the hallway frontage. Future phases of the Pathways Center will similarly incorporate large glass storefronts.
