Pope John XXIII: The Saint of the Second Vatican Council

Series: Two Popes, One Canonization
Celebrating the Lives of Saints John XXIII and John Paul II

On April 27th, Popes John XXIII and John Paul II will be declared saints.  Immaculata’s Campus Ministry is offering a special series of presentations to mark this event and to highlight these two extraordinary men who changed world history.

All presentations will take place in Loyola Hall Room 127 from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.

March 18: “Pope John XXIII: The Saint of the Second Vatican Council,”  Fr. Dennis Billy, C.Ss.R.

Fr. Dennis Billy, C.Ss.R., holder of the John Cardinal Krol Chair of Moral Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, will offer a presentation on the life and influence of St. John XXIII.

March 25: “Pope John Paul II:  The Mystery of the Gift,” Mr. Jim Rogers, M.S., ATC

Mr. Jim Rogers of Temple University Sports Medicine and father of Immaculata University Chaplain Fr. Christopher Rogers, will offer reflections on the gift and mystery of the body in light of medical science and St. John Paul II’s teachings.

April 1:  “Pope John Paul II” (Movie: Part I)

In this epic feature length film, Jon Voight delivers an incredibly inspirational portrayal of the life and spiritual journey of Pope John Paul II.
