    Please join the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and IU's Education Division for this professional development event for early childhood educators.

    Balancing Academics and Play in the Early Childhood Classroom

    Keynote Speaker: Kristy Brumfield, Ph.D., LPC, play therapist. Dr. Brumfield, a professor in Immaculata's Psychology and Counseling Department, has led numerous workshops and published many articles about play therapy.

    Choose from two breakout sessions:

    • The Secret of STEM
    • Blogs Are Us
    • Walk Away from Worksheets
    • Practical Strategies for the Early Childhood Classroom

    A certificate for workshop hours will be available at the end of the conference day to take to your district/intermediate units to receive ACT 48 hours.

    Cost is $30.00 (Continental breakfast and lunch included.)

  • Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a liturgical season that leads up to Easter. During Lent, the Church asks us to surrender ourselves to prayer and to the reading of Scripture, to fasting and to giving alms.

    Two Masses will be held, one at 7:30 a.m. in Gillet Convent and another at noon in Villa Maria Hall's Chapel. Ashes will be distributed at both Masses.

    Ashes will also be distributed at 4:00 p.m. in the Rotunda or at 7:05 p.m. in Loyola Hall 127.

    Immaculata University's Fashion Merchandising program and Wings for Success are hosting this annual fun-filled day of fashion for a good cause—outfitting economically disadvantaged women with work-appropriate clothing. This year's emcee will be Philadelphia news anchor Pat Ciarrocchi.

    This event will include terrific food, a silent auction of high-end fashion items, vendor tables, and a fabulous show featuring community women modeling fashions from local boutiques, original designs by Immaculata students and noted local designers. Enjoy delicious brunch treats, mimosas, coffee, and desserts.

    New workshops this year will focus on rejuvenation, health, and wellness.

    Tickets are $50 per person. To attend this event, please register online by March 25, 2017. Limited tickets available at the door for $65.
