For graduation, all students in the College of Undergraduate Studies are required to successfully complete two credits at the EXS 100 level and to earn two physical education activity units. If you are an exercise science major, you are required to take Introduction to Exercise Science and Fitness (EXS 201) instead of an EXS 100-level course. If you have a permanent medical excuse, you must complete only Personal Fitness & Wellness.
You may select the physical education activity units from the areas of lifetime sports and activities, dance, and intercollegiate sports. You may earn one of the two required physical education units through participation in Immaculata’s intercollegiate teams. You may earn the required Physical Education (PED) units through participation in IUs intercollegiate teams. Participation in one sports team can be used for one PED unit. Participation on a second different sports team must be completed to earn the second PED unit. Students must complete the entire season to receive PED units.
