Hear from our students

What our students are saying about:

Developing  Leadership

The knowledge and experience gained from this program have made me a stronger, more confident leader. Prior to this program, I had limited knowledge of the world of higher education outside of Division III athletics.

-Zachary Schneider, Assistant Director of Club Sports, Intramurals and Recreation, Georgia Gwinnett College

I am more confident, have improved skills in leadership such as writing, speaking, negotiating, collaboration, better quality work, more professional and polished documents, working at a higher level with legal counsel, writing legal documents, chairing committees, spearheading organizational development projects, and working with executives to design top hat executive compensation plans. For example, I am currently working with an executive to create a new venture start-up Entrepreneurship Center that involved researching and creating job descriptions, compensation ranges, etc.

-Kathryn E. Flannery, PHR, Assistant Director of Human Relations, Philadelphia University

Developing Knowledge and Skills

This program has such an excellent balance of theory and the practical when you combine all the classes we have taken so far. The relationships formed within the cohorts provide excellent connections for the future, and it has truly been a privilege. It seems daunting to take that first step, but once you do, the experience is well worth it and the support system is excellent.

-Gloria Oikelome

The study of higher education has provided me wonderful insights on how to engage my students.

-Joanne Drinkard, CEO, Aardvark Child Care & Preschools and Adjunct Faculty, Delaware Valley Community College

My teaching style has changed and grown. I have become more confident in my ability to be effective.

-Nancy Barker, Faculty, Immaculata University

Opening Opportunity

Multiple opportunities in higher education have become possible due to my enrollment in the program. For example, I do not believe I would have been offered the interviews for my current positions without my coursework at Immaculata.

-Karen Dundon, Adjunct Faculty, University of Pennsylvania and Cabrini College

I have significantly more responsibilities, working directly with the president on projects, more confidence, better collaboration skills, more insight into university business, assisting to create staffing for an entrepreneurship center!

-Kathryn E. Flannery, PHR, Assistant Director of Human Relations, Philadelphia University

Garnering Respect and Developing a Career Path

I can truly say that being a part of this program has increased my credibility and the level of respect I am afforded...I cannot say enough about the positive influence this program is having on my career development.

The room for professional growth was immediate upon enrolling into IU's Ed.D. program. When I was ready to begin a job search, I noticed that I received more recognition now that I had our program listed on my resume.

-Zachary Schneider, Assistant Director of Club Sports, Intramurals and Recreation, Georgia Gwinnett College

This program is able to be tailored to meet your needs. When I first began I felt as though I did not belong, but it was easy to find ways to apply the principles of higher education to my job, and doing so helped me gain the confidence to excel and expand my career into higher education!

What Other Students are Saying

I see the big picture. Prior to this program, I really never thought about any other departments. I only worked in my own bubble. Now I see how every department can be affected by higher education and the significance of collaboration.

Due to my experience in this program, I have had the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities in the areas of academic management, strategic planning, and accreditation.

The Immaculata instructors are student-centered.

The cohort format supports learning for working adults!

The hybrid model works well with full-time employment, and the cohort model is a solid support system.

No matter what your experience level, the program is designed to open doors for you in higher education.
