Biography: 

Dr. Kristy A. Brumfield is a counselor educator who joined the graduate psychology faculty at Immaculata University as an associate professor in January 2015. Prior to this she was a member of the faculty at Xavier University of Louisiana and had been a counselor working with children and adolescents in New Orleans for more than 10 years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor, a Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor, and a Nationally Certified Counselor.

In addition to play therapy, her professional/research interests include work with preschool age children and families, filial therapy, group therapy with adolescents, and multicultural counseling. She has demonstrated a passion for utilizing creative counseling techniques with clients of all ages and has primarily done work with individuals from ages 3 - 22 in various settings.
