Sister Eugenie Kenney Medal for Excellence in Education
Each year since 1999, the Education Division awards a medal at graduation in memory of Sister Eugenie Kenney, who was a faculty member of the Education Division from 1993 until her death in December of 1998. The student recipient of the award must be someone who is receiving a degree and who has completed all the requirements for certification, including student teaching. The faculty of the Education Division determines the recipient.
Criteria include:
- Scholastic achievement (3.5 GPA or higher)
- Commitment to the teaching profession
- Orientation to service
- Ability to interact with others
- Good moral character
